Our Christmas Adventures!

Here's a snipit into the Dry family christmas. We had a great time visiting all our family in Victoria for the holidays. Elle did lots of things for the very first time. Ice skating, building a snowman, sledding, making snow angels, her first christmas and staying up till midnight on New years just to name a few. We were tired out by the end of it all.

It's beginning to look alot like christmas!

5 more sleeps until we leave our winter wonderland in Calgary and head to Victoria, which right now is covered in the white stuff also, or so i hear. Calgary is quite trecharous right now. I embarked on the 10 min journey to the grocery store yesterday and was ready to pull my hair out by the time I made it home. Lots of cars without their snow tires on, so that makes for slow travel if you happen to get stuck behind one of them..... which of course i did. Then the stores are absolutely packed and I am not finding too many people to be in a very jolly or giving mood. Just people who want what they want and won`t move out of the way to let you pass by. I told Curtis that the next time we have to go to the store we will be going in the middle of the night to hopefully steer clear of the crowds. Nice thing about the holidays is Superstore and Walmart are open 24 hours.. what other stores do you really need!!

What a trip!.....

So, let me just say first.... I have the best sister on the planet. For my Christmas present my pal got me tickets to see James Blunt in Vancouver. Elle and I got to go for a pre christmas holiday for 5 days. We had a great time surprising everyone that didn't know we were coming. Our cover was almost blown though. Shannon had arranged for me to watch Emma on the day that we arrived while she was at work. The plan was for my brother in law to drop Emma off at my Mom and Dad's house (after we arrived and surprised them) so he could go catch a ferry. It just so happened that as Shannon and I were making the short 5 minute drive from the airport to my parents house, my brother in law Rob and my Dad had been talking on the phone. Apparently, I was going to be looking after Emma at my parents house that day, or this is what Rob let my Dad know. My dad was a little bit confused since I live in a different province. He was wondering how that was going to work. Rob thinking I had already arrived at the house and realizing he may have blown the surprise told my dad he wasn't sure where he was supposed to drop Emma off. My Dad rubbed it off on the account that Rob can be a bit of a scatterbrain sometimes! Shannon, Elle and I got to the house just before my Dad had a chance to put two and two together. Surprises are my favorite thing!
Shannon had planned a family dinner that night so Elle could play with her little cousins and that they did. Elle also had her very first ferry ride over to Vancouver which she loved. She is very interested in her surroundings and just stares and squeals in delight at new things. One of the highlights of our trip of course was James. The concert was FABULOUS I got lots of Video footage and us girls had a great night out.
Here's a taste for you.
